Emails to Michael Jacobson

*****

I think we will miss the new post literate blog.

I'm glad you were able to do it for this long. 16 years, right?

That's a good long ride in itself.

The idea of asemic writing has been very generative for a lot of us.

It is a psychological mutagen.

It gets inside our heads, and it changes how we think.

*****

It took 25 years or so, but I think we finally have some clarity about the field of asemic writing. About how to approach it, how to think about it.

There's a lot of asemic stuff out there. Nobody likes all of it. It's a little bit like music.

If you ask me who my favorite saxophonists are, I can tell you my favorite, and my other 5 or 10 favorites.

I'm more interested in the idea of asemic writing than I am in all of the millions of examples of asemic everything.

So, right now, I would say my favorite writer about the idea of asemic writing is Marco Giovenale.
I also like you, and De Villo Sloan.

And of course I like my own contributions to the field, but I suppose that should go without saying.
